The technique we use is to meet every couple of weeks to study one particular topic so far we have covered medications required before departure, Expedition First Aid and Insurance and hi tech kit i.e sat phones, sat trackers etc. We might even sell tickets for the Hippo Awareness Day!. The first press release is now avaliable detailing the Canoe Africa expedition. For more Details - Click Here

Meeting of Cornwall's Silver Wolf holders
The Silver Wolf Decoration was introduced by Lord Baden-Powell and remains the Scout Association’s highest award for service to the Scout Movement. It is the unrestricted gift of the Chief Scout and is only awarded “for Service of an exceptional nature”.
For the first time there has been a reunion organised in Cornwall and it was attended by seven of the eight holders of the Silver Wolf Award. It took the form of a luncheon at The Brittania Inn, Tregrehan, near St Austell. After an excellent lunch the group, each accompanied by his wife, visited the Mid-Cornwall District camp-site to view the great facilities available for Scouts.
The current holders of the Silver Wolf Award are,- George Heyworth, Don Haines, John Goss (all Truro District), Barry Fenton ( Penwith), Peter Carvell (Mount Edgcumbe), Mike Hammond (Bude), Peter Dunstan and John Fisher (both St Austell).
There are plans to make this an annual event and it is intended to hold the next on St. George’s Day 2009.

County Show a great success (07/06/08)

This years stand at the Royal Cornwall Show was again an outstanding success. The weather was kind and this brought in the crowds. Leaders from Bodmin District organised the display, and many other leaders from eight of our nine Districts came along to support the event. Over 2500 metal badges were made on-site, several thousand stickers given away, as well as explaining a little more about what we do to people visiting the stand.Over 200 cards were filled in by both adults and young people alike expressing a desire to join the movement. This can be seen as a great achievement, by all those involved.

County Car Treasure Hunt - 23rd November (Uploaded 02/04/08)

Further details will be available nearer the time, but the brief details are:

On 23rd November, the 1st County Car Treasure Hunt will be held, starting at Nine Ashes at 10am. With a designated 30 mile round route, you will be able to enter (with as many in a car as you wish) for £5.00 per car, with monies going to the CSFST Equipment Fund. Participants will be challenged to complete a series of questions, and will be given points for correct answers. Bonus points will also be given for the shortest route/least miles travelled, as participants plan their own route to find the answers to the set questions. With a fun packed day, an option for Bacon rolls for breakfast, and the opportunity to camp the night before; this will hopefully prove to be the first event, of what is hoped to be an annual event. A downloadable information sheet and booking form will be available soon.
