The day was a great success, despite the overcast weather conditions. With music from Wadebridge Band, Camp Fire Singing, Traditional Camping & Cooking displays and many other scouting display stands, the visitors were well catered for. For the children, Parachute Games, Pony Rides and a Bouncy Castle were the flavour of the day. The event also saw the official handing over of the new display trailer by Lady Iona Molesworth-St.Aubyn, and the presentation of the Silver Wolf to Peter Dunstan and Mike Hammond, and the Silver Acorn to Peter Keast and Pauline George.

On 18th November 2007, the Trust for Scouting Cornwall held a concert at all Saints Church, Falmouth, with Nankersey Male Voice Choir. 2nd Falmouth Beavers Cubs and Scouts sang some campfire songs, they were supported by the District Explorer Unit. The evening was a great success, as these images by Colin Wellington shows. Other images are on the Falmouth District Page. Camp Fire Songbook We have gathered enough songs for two booklets, one of Chants and Action Songs, the other more of songs for after the camp fire. We are now in the process of finding out about copyright. Some are protected, it lasts until 70 years after the death of the last remaining composer. So, we are finding out who we need to ask and then whether there will be a charge. The Performing Rights society are being very helpful. and an ex Scouter is willing to record a CD. |
